Please peruse the general information offered in our website. If you do not exactly find information on what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us. Note that Palm Beach Table Tennis actually is a virtual club with the goal to promote table tennis in South Florida. By means of this page we mainly offer information on Table Tennis Programs offered by the Adult & Community Education of the School District of Palm Beach County (www.PBEducator.org). Our"club" is affiliated to the USATT, but it does not have its own venue". We are looking for sponsors of our club.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Ping pong history: After almost 10 years
, the 14th of December was the end of table tennis at Loggers' Run Community Middel School. On the evening of the following day,10 tables were moved to OLYMPIC HEIGHTS COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL, our new venue
starting January 11, 2012. We will fall back to our previous schedule. The registration fee will increase slightly, but we can live with it as the facility is a much better one. For further information, please log to "FORUMS". We will keep you posted through this site. We appreciate your continue involvement in table tennis programs supported by our club. Thank you to the movers team: Ray Glass was the designated U-Haul truck driver, Wayne Wistrand, the ball barriers specialist. Our muscular buddies; Akos Tauber, Bruce Bower, Jose Noriega, Mike Pella, and Vadim Mordkovich (he worked out very hard on the eve of a surgical procedure) took care of the rest. "Professor" Jose was just watching ☺! For further information on this and other events, remember our presence in Facebook. Our Akos and Sunil played very well at the recent Jason Taylor Foundation Doubles Ping Pong Tournament. Don't miss the coverage in our Facebook page.
We apreciate Ms. Susie Stanley's (our Adult & Community Education director) words in her welcome message to us. Please find it under FORUMS/Announcements.
We now also have a presence in Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Palm-Beach-Table-Tennis/141479035954932). Our Vadim Mordkovich is the enthusiast in charge. Thanks to him we can watch quality video clips of our activities. The page also includes pictures, comments, and news. You will love its dynamics. It helps us to keep everybody posted on all the activities our players take part in. If you so wish you do not need to interact. Just enjoy the page as a simple visitor. We are looking for feedback and hope that further brainstorming will help us to keep improving the PBTT.
OHCHS will also offer 2 programs. Please note the time will be again the favorite one: MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS - ALL LEVELS WITH COACHING HINTS: 6:00 - 7:30 PM (this program will be enhanced with more coaching!). ADVANCED PLAYERS: 7:30 - 9:45 PM. Log to "About PBTT" for Directions to PBTT (OHCHS). When you walk in through the main entrance and see the large schoolyard in the middle of campus, look ahead for the one-story building that has a pyramidal structure on top of the facade (this is the cafetorium building, our "pingpongtorium"). You will also see a tall telecommunications antenna mast in the background.
For registration forms please log to "Forms" (in the Main Menu) and click on the respective downloadable application form. The top of the form tells you the applicable total fee, and the lower section includes information on the duration of the term. Please pay preferably by check payable to OHCHS, or exact cash.
For general information log to the "Forums" tab and then "Announcements" (you must log-in or register). It includes information of interest like: Definition of ALL LEVELS and ADVANCED PLAYERS; BUY/SELL USED TABLE TENNIS ITEMS (avoid playing with subpar quality equipment that will prevent you from making progress), etc. For information on further table tennis venues in Palm Beach County and nearby log to the tab "Our Goals".
Please familiarize yourself with our set of rules and especially with what is prescribed on the order of play. Our rules must be observed both in the ALL LEVELS and ADVANCED PLAYERS programs Please note that you will be playing at a community high school and that you first have to complete a registration form and pay the applicable tuition to enroll in an Adult & Community Education program.
